  Short while ago google had changed their ranking algorithm,   the reason cited is that google wanted to provide more relevant results, google engineers published blog post which indicated there were 11.8% organic search results will be affected, say it another way, there are about 12% of google search results are considered low quality by google itself. Google started this change almost one year ago, no wonder I saw a few of my keywords’ ranks dropped like a rock, but almost all the ranks promoted by articles and blog posts were not affected, a few of these keywords ranked better than ever, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.

So what exactly is linking campaign the old way? a lot of marketing companies did and are doing the plain link building, they will get links from any websites which accept adding links, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, almost all of them are garbage, the name link spamming are just for these sites. The latest google update will definitely downgrade most if not all of these sites, all the links on those websites will have the same fate.  

Examples will be great for explanation. It was quite some time ago, I started promote the keyword, Level Tool, at that time almost every body was doing plain linking campaign, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. In the beginning, the ranking of the keyword in question rise pretty fast, finally the rank improved a lot,   the honeymoon lasted until google changed it’s mind. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain puller , most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, almost no plain links, you can imagine how this keyword ranks. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? It all boils down to content, when you create unique and quality content, not only people will love to read your stuff, so do the search engines. It’s never too late to build good blogs for business purpose, such as this interesting blog, kaiya eve , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, and to my surprise, I have high ranks for some of  competitive keywords. As we can see, quality article marketing is much better than plain link building. Say you’re building your own bogging network, for instance Chain Hoist, then you will have a powerful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

Remember content is king, you just need to create content, publish and share with people, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, this strategy will prevail in short or long term. Persistence and patience are the keys to success, nothing will automatically improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, let’s keep building and maintaining our blogs until end of the day. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, a new article will be indexed and cached in less than an hour, popular blogs will get your post indexed as soon as you post it, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, take Wheel Strap as an example, nice writing, good content, published on popular site, this article is a good example of article marketing.

The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, then go ahead register a new twitter account and app, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then every new post on your blog will show up in your twitter page, it’s real easy and useful, no one should miss this tool out.
